WR Bet injects Sh5.5 million into APS Bomet FC

The partnership will help reduce the club’s financial burdens.

Kenya.- National Super League franchise APS Bomet FC has signed a partnership deal with WR Bet.

The agreement, worth Ksh 5.5 million (€39,420), will help the club meet its financial obligations in areas such as player welfare, logistics and operations over the next five months.

The sponsorship is a major lifeline for APS Bomet FC, which has been struggling to stay afloat financially and has had to rely on donations from supporters to keep its operations running. 

Club officials and players expressed their appreciation for the timely financial support. Evans Mafuta, APS Bomet’s head coach, said the funding would help reduce the club’s financial burdens and allow the team to play better on the pitch without external distractions.

He said: “This partnership is a game-changer for us. It will help in motivating the players, improving training conditions and ensuring smooth operations as we push for promotion to the FKF Premier League.”

The club CEO, Rose Chemutai, welcomed the sponsorship and encouraged fans to continue their unwavering support for the team. 

She said: “We want our home fans to turn up in large numbers to witness this match. They have always stood by us, and this is also an opportunity for them to learn more about the company that has chosen to sponsor us.

“This is a major boost for us because, as you know, the league currently lacks an official sponsor. Most teams rely on donations and well-wishers to keep running, so this support comes at the right time.”

APS Bomet is the only NSL team WR Bet is sponsoring in Kenya. The deal underscores the company’s commitment to promoting the growth of grassroots football in the jurisdiction. 

The partnership will also boost WR Bet’s brand visibility among local football fans.

WR Bet’s head of the supervision department, Grayson White, said: “This is the only club we are currently sponsoring, and we will be in Bomet on Sunday to witness the team play, meet the fans and register them on our platform. We have plenty of merchandise and other goodies for the club and the fans.

“We are also looking forward to extending this partnership into the next season. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, we will be exploring community projects in need of support in Bomet and the entire Rift Valley region.”
