The event, which took place at <strong>Kamohau Home Care,<\/strong> was led by MEC <strong>Bitsa Lenkopane<\/strong>, alongside NWGB Acting CEO <strong>Boitumelo Qalinge<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although Nelson Mandela Day is usually observed in <strong>July<\/strong>, the organisers intentionally held the commemoration in <strong>September<\/strong> to emphasise that <strong>\u201cevery day is a Mandela Day\u201d. <\/strong>The decision was meant to remind communities that service to others should not be limited to a single day in the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the programme, donations were made to <strong>Kamohau Home Care<\/strong>, <strong>Onalerona Club for the Aged<\/strong> and <strong>Iphuteng Centre<\/strong>. Items such as beds, blankets, gardening tools and equipment were handed over to improve daily living conditions and to support the elderly, caregivers and other vulnerable groups within the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MEC Lenkopane urged residents to see Mandela Day as more than an annual occasion. She said: &#8220;Mandela Day is a principle to live by daily\u201d, reinforcing the idea of continuous acts of kindness. She also announced the Matlakala ke zaka waste management programme, designed to empower young people with sustainable opportunities in environmental care and economic participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event drew participation from traditional and municipal leadership, with representatives from <strong>Kgosi Rapulana\u2019s office<\/strong> and the <strong>Ditsobotla mayor\u2019s office,<\/strong> both of whom acknowledged the impact of the contributions.
