Ghana.- Ghana<\/strong> will host the third edition of the Africa Money and DeFi Summit<\/strong> West Africa, a major fintech and blockchain<\/strong> event expected to influence the region\u2019s online gambling, igaming and digital betting sectors<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By spotlighting innovations in digital payments, blockchain and decentralised finance (DeFi), the summit aims to accelerate the adoption of faster, more secure and compliant financial systems<\/strong> that are poised to transform how players deposit, withdraw and transact online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The summit, taking place on September 24 and 25 in Accra, will bring together over 500 leaders from fintech, DeFi and Web3, representing the forefront of financial innovation<\/strong>. Sessions will explore how stablecoins, digital currencies<\/strong> pegged to traditional money like the US dollar, along with blockchain and modern payment systems, can streamline payments<\/strong> and expand financial inclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These developments are expected to benefit igaming platforms, digital betting services and in-game transactions by improving transaction speed<\/strong>, security and reliability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrew Fassnidge<\/strong>, Director of Africa Money and DeFi Summit, highlighted the commercial potential of digital finance. “Africa\u2019s financial landscape is evolving rapidly<\/strong>. Stablecoins now support payroll, cross-border transfers<\/strong> and business operations, driving real commercial momentum<\/strong>. With mobile-based stablecoin transfers up 61 per cent and 43 per cent of digital asset transactions involving stablecoins, adoption is accelerating,\u201d he said, according to a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fassnidge added: “Fintech innovation<\/strong> is at the heart of this shift, spanning embedded finance, lending platforms, digital identity, Web3 (a decentralised blockchain-based internet), mobile money and digital commerce. This summit brings together the builders, investors and platforms turning emerging technologies<\/strong> into scalable business<\/strong> and investment opportunities.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
