Peter Solo of nepotism, corruption, staff intimidation and misuse of public funds. The Authority has firmly<strong> rejected these accusations<\/strong>, describing them as \u201callegations intended to tarnish the <strong>hard-earned reputation<\/strong> of the institution and Solo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Solo was appointed on July 24, 2025, to lead the NLA, which oversees country\u2019s <strong>gaming and gambling sector<\/strong>. The allegations have been detailed in the Liberian media, with reports highlighting specific <strong>claims against Solo<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Knews Online Liberia report, dated September 5, states: \u201cSolo has been accused of hiring more than 50 employees without board approval, placing his son in a supervisory role with a $600 salary and withdrawing $5,000 from NLA funds for personal use.\u201d Reports also state that employees were intimidated, unfairly dismissed or demoted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"203\" height=\"249\" src=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2025\/09\/LOTTERY-PETER.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8247\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Liberia\u2019s National Lottery Authority defends Director General Peter Solo, rejecting allegations.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The NLA, however, categorically <strong>rejected<\/strong> each of these claims in a statement: \u201cAt no time has the Authority engaged in favouritism, political interference or family-based considerations in its employment or decision-making processes. All appointments and promotions are conducted in <strong>strict accordance <\/strong>with <strong>established policies<\/strong> and legal procedures; no family-based favouritism has occurred.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement added: \u201cThe Authority rejects any claims of personal use of funds; all financial transactions are conducted <strong>transparently<\/strong> and in line with the laws of the Republic of Liberia.
