Backed by a $1bn investment and QAR2bn ($549m) in financing from Qatari banks, Syntys is scaling up to 120 MW of AI-ready capacity, operating a hyperscale data centre capable of supporting <strong>high-speed cloud gaming<\/strong> and real-time betting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a footprint across <strong>Algeria, Tunisia, other African markets<\/strong>, and key regions in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, Ooredoo has the scale to deliver seamless services across continents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A TechAfrica News report stated: \u201cThe company is accelerating its transformation into a multi-asset digital leader, expanding its reach through initiatives in AI, data centres, subsea connectivity and fintech services.\u201d For igaming operators, this infrastructure enables faster cloud servers supporting live-dealer streams and AI-powered odds modelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2025\/09\/OREDOO-600x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7941\" srcset=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2025\/09\/OREDOO-600x600.jpg 600w, https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2025\/09\/OREDOO.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Aziz Fakhroo highlights the company\u2019s digital infrastructure and financial technology strategy.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Ooredoo Group CEO<strong> Aziz Fakhroo<\/strong> said: \u201cAs part of our strategy, we\u2019re building a future-proof business by investing in five strategic verticals: telecom operations, towers, data centres, subsea cables and fintech.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Superfast networks power Africa\u2019s igaming<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Connectivity<\/strong> is another key focus. Ooredoo\u2019s \u201cFibre in the Gulf\u201d (FIG) subsea cable project, with 720 Tbps capacity, strengthens Gulf connections and extends <strong>digital benefits to North Africa<\/strong>, creating new corridors linking Africa, Asia and Europe. Ooredoo is also rolling out 5G Standalone and 5G-Advanced networks with edge computing and network slicing, ideal for instant betting payments, in-play wagering and smooth<strong> mobile gaming experiences<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While specific data centres are in Algeria and Tunisia, the subsea cables and 5G expansions extend benefits to other African countries by improving <strong>cross-border digital connectivity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fintech is the third pillar of Ooredoo\u2019s expansion. Through Ooredoo Financial Technology International (OFTI), the company is rolling out <strong>digital wallets<\/strong> like Walletii to new markets. Already live in Qatar, Oman and the Maldives, Ooredoo is expanding into Tunisia and other African countries, helping solve one of igaming\u2019s biggest challenges: reliable,<strong> instant payment rails<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ooredoo also has the financial strength to support these ambitions.
