The cheque was officially handed over on August 27, marking another milestone in the authority\u2019s ongoing <strong>commitment to safe motherhood<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking at the handover, MAGLA Director General <strong>Racheal Mijiga<\/strong> praised the initiative for its impact on the country\u2019s health landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We have seen improvements in both infant mortality and maternal deaths. Mothers are the backbone of society, and children\u2019s early development is critical. It is therefore important for <strong>individuals and companies<\/strong> to contribute towards safe motherhood for the <strong>sustainability of Malawi<\/strong>,\u201d said Mijiga, according to the Malawi Voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NPL spokesperson Aubrey Mchulu highlighted MAGLA\u2019s consistent support over the years. He said: &#8220;We are very thankful for this donation. MAGLA has been a <strong>consistent partner<\/strong>, and this will go a long way in helping us move closer to achieving zero maternal deaths in the country.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"851\" height=\"501\" src=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2025\/08\/MAGLA-FUN-RUN.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7397\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">MAGLA initially pledged K15m at the cheque handover for the NPL Mothers\u2019 Fun Run but later increased the donation to K20m<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the years, the Mothers\u2019 Fun Run has equipped district hospitals and health facilities with essential maternal and neonatal care tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s donation will support <strong>health facilities of the country<\/strong>, including the Kasungu District Health Office and 25 satellite clinics.
