Kiro\u2019o Games in Cameroon and Leti Arts in Ghana were highlighted as examples. They\u2019ve started using AI to craft games that put African culture front and centre in ways that feel “fresh and exciting”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Another technique gaining popularity is Procedural Content Generation (PCG).<\/strong> This lets developers build large, diverse game worlds without having to design every inch manually. Nigerian studio Maliyo Games, known for its culturally rich mobile games, is a good example of who could really benefit from this approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n AI is also changing how Non-Playable Characters (NPCs)<\/strong> behave. Using machine learning, NPCs can react in realistic ways and adjust their behaviour based on what the player does. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The report stated: \u201cFrom procedurally generated worlds to AI-powered localisation in multiple African languages, studios across the continent are revolutionising gaming<\/strong> experiences and breaking down cultural and language barriers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Storytelling, too, is evolving. AI-driven branching narratives allow players to influence the story as they go, making games more immersive <\/strong>and worth playing again and again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n AI is helping African game studios create richer, faster and more authentic games<\/strong> – proving they\u2019re not just playing the game, but changing it.
