The country\u2019s digital scene comes alive as Gamathon showcases gaming, immersive media and Africa\u2019s digital future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Ghana.- Ghana is taking the spotlight in Africa\u2019s digital revolution<\/strong> as Gamathon 2025<\/strong> delivers six days of innovation in gaming, animation, Extended Reality (XR) and interactive media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event began on July 28 and will run until August 2 in the lively city of Accra<\/strong>, which is now a meeting point for game makers, digital creators<\/strong>, investors and tech experts from all over Africa. Gamathon is Africa\u2019s biggest gathering where talent meets opportunity, collaborations happen and the continent\u2019s creative tech comes into the foreground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

XR, which blends virtual, augmented and mixed reality, is being spotlighted as a key technology<\/strong> transforming how games are played and how audiences engage, bringing fresh energy to gaming and animation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organised by Africacomicade<\/strong>, a pan-African digital creative organisation, the event has expanded into a tour across Africa, highlighting innovation and offering opportunities to storytellers, developers and interactive media makers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael Oscar<\/strong>, Founder of Africacomicade, highlighted Ghana\u2019s importance to the creative ecosystem. \u201cGhana is one of Sub-Saharan Africa\u2019s key creative markets and home to powerhouses like Leti Arts, AnimaxFYB, Mills Media and more. Unbeknownst to many, Ghana is also a major part of Africacomicade\u2019s origin story, so hosting Gamathon Ghana feels like a homecoming.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking place in different phases<\/strong>, Gamathon kicked off in Kenya with its first segment. It is now in full swing in Ghana, will move to South Africa from August 11 to 15, and wrap up in Nigeria from September 29 to October 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Partners and collaboration drive success<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Strategic partners<\/strong> amplify Gamathon Ghana\u2019s impact. MEST Africa provides startup support and incubation, ALX Africa supports job-ready professionals, Digiits Agency ensures local innovation remains central and SwiftXR supplies no-code XR tools to enhance immersive experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faith Benson<\/strong>, Program Manager at Africacomicade, emphasised the collaborative spirit. \u201cBy bringing together industry leaders, emerging talent and innovative companies, we are creating a space for cross-sector and cross-border collaboration like never before.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The six-day event opened with the Creative Ecosystem Tour from July 28 to 30. Attendees had the chance to visit Accra\u2019s busy studios and innovation hubs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A \u2018Dinner evening\u2019 will gather ecosystem leaders for networking on July 30. \u2018Meridian Meetups Accra\u2019 on August 1 spotlights pioneers in spatial computing and XR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The grand finale taking place on August 2 is NerdCon Accra<\/strong> which brings gamers, developers and fans together to explore game demos, attend panels, check out exhibits, join competitions and experience the latest in tech<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gamathon Ghana 2025 welcomes everyone, whether students, developers, investors or curious attendees. In Accra this week, Africa\u2019s digital future<\/strong> is not just imagined. It is being built.<\/p>\n\n\n
