The <strong>Esports Association Ghana (EAG)<\/strong> has officially launched the <strong>Ghana Esports League (GEL)<\/strong>, a ground-breaking initiative set to reshape the future of competitive gaming in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Launching with a pre-season tournament in August, GEL is gearing up to be more than just another showdown. With debut titles like EA Sports FC25 and eFootball 25, the league marks a ground-breaking first as Ghana\u2019s very own national platform designed to develop, rank and reward elite gaming talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President of EAG, <strong>Kwesi Hayford<\/strong>, described the launch as a turning point for the country\u2019s digital sports scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Ghana Esports League (GEL) marks a new era for <strong>competitive gaming in Ghana<\/strong>. This league isn\u2019t just about gaming; it\u2019s about providing structure, recognition and professional pathways for our players, coaches, content creators and industry stakeholders,\u201d he said, according to MyJoyOnline news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GEL will serve up a mix of online and offline matchups, pulling in top-tier teams from every corner of the country. On the line are national rankings, media spotlight and league placements that could shake up the scene for years and put <strong>Ghana\u2019s esports stars<\/strong> squarely on the global radar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are building an ecosystem that can thrive locally and compete globally,\u201d said Hayford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wondhakid fuels Ghana esports rise<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Celebrated <strong>esports star Frank Adotapo<\/strong>, better known as <strong>Wondhakid<\/strong>, championed the long-awaited platform, calling it a game-changer for Ghana\u2019s competitive scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is what we\u2019ve been waiting for. The Ghana Esports League is a game-changer. As a player, I\u2019ve seen the hunger and talent in this country. We just needed the right platform.
