Industry leaders, regulators and mental health experts unite to promote ethical gambling and safeguard communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Zimbabwe.- Zimbabwe<\/strong> will host the National Forum on Responsible Betting<\/strong> this week, bringing together important players in the gambling industry<\/strong>, public health sector and government to promote safer gambling practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The forum is being led by H-Metro, the country\u2019s popular tabloid under the Zimpapers group, and will be held in Harare on July 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the main theme being to \u201ccollaborate and regulate”, the forum aims to drive forward public dialogue around gambling ethics, corporate accountability and community protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Major betting companies, including Africa Bet, Sun Casino, Mwos and Bola Bet<\/strong>, have given the event full backing and have pledged to promote ethical business models and champion consumer protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the betting sector has become a valuable source of employment and tax revenue, concerns are mounting over the downsides of irresponsible gambling, which many include rising addiction and financial hardship. The forum seeks to strike a balance between industry growth and social responsibility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis forum is part of H Metro\u2019s broader responsibility to shape national dialogue and promote public interest,\u201d said H Metro Editor Robson Sharuko, according to PressReader. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uniting for responsible gambling<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sharuko highlighted the role of H-Metro in engaging with young people affected by gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cH-Metro publication connects directly with the youth, those most exposed to the highs and lows of betting. We want to be the bridge between regulation, industry players and punters<\/strong>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organisers have brought together a broad mix of voices, including regulators, economists<\/strong>, clinical psychologists and representatives from the Lotteries and Gaming Board<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the table are plans to sharpen laws, boost mental health support and raise public awareness about the different aspects of gambling. Beyond the panel talks, there will be breakout sessions designed with parents, teachers and young people in mind, and early plans for school outreach campaigns are also in the works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With growing attention on responsible gambling<\/strong>, the forum aims to encourage collaboration and practical steps to support the well-being of communities across Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n\n\n
