NLGRB is stepping up to tighten control, crack down on illegal gambling and get closer to communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Uganda.- Uganda\u2019s gambling watchdog is making a significant step forward this July by opening six new regional offices <\/strong>across the country. The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB)<\/strong> is extending its operations to take greater control of the rapidly growing gambling industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New offices are opening swiftly in the cities of Mbarara, Gulu, Jinja, and Mbale, and these centres will be completely up and running by the end of July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The newly launched offices will be regional enforcement and compliance hubs<\/strong>, responsible for monitoring gambling operators<\/strong>, enforcing regulations and working with local communities to curb illegal gambling, according to the NLGRB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe sector is experiencing rapid expansion,\u201d said CEO Denis Ngabirano<\/strong>, according to Flexi-news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside the expansion, the board is relocating its main office to a new site in Kampala this month, a bold move marking a key milestone in its transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, towns set to gain new offices are welcoming the change. In vibrant Mbarara, Mayor Robert Kakyebezi warmly embraced the news that his city will become the base for one of the new hubs. \u201cThe planned regional office in Mbarara will help address local gaming challenges,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the gambling sector evolving at a swift pace, the NLGRB\u2019s regional rollout<\/strong> signals a proactive shift in regulatory oversight. As these new offices take root, the board is positioning itself closer to communities, aiming not just to tighten control but to create a more responsible and accountable gambling environment<\/strong> across Uganda.<\/p>\n\n\n
