Government unveils national strategy with new training, infrastructure and investment to fuel the country\u2019s gaming ambitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Morocco.-Morocco\u2019s gaming industry<\/strong> is currently raking in $500m<\/strong> a year, and the government has set its sights on doubling that amount by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government has spotlighted the gaming sector as a key driver to diversify Morocco\u2019s economy and unlock the creative potential of the nation\u2019s digital natives, with the ambitious goal of doubling the industry\u2019s current annual revenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe goal is not only to generate revenue, but also to empower our youth to develop their own start-ups and small businesses in this sector,\u201d said Mohamed Bensaid, Morocco\u2019s Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, according to Africa news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was announced at the Morocco Gaming Expo<\/strong>, which took place in Rabat and ran until July 6. The government also confirmed that it would invest $26m<\/strong> in the Rabat Gaming City project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Training the next generation of digital creators<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Rabat initiative<\/strong> will give emerging companies and creative game makers access to training facilities, shared workspaces and production studios designed to help them grow their projects and succeed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Morocco is also launching countrywide training programmes in game design, programming and virtual reality to equip the next generation with the skills needed to succeed internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current gaming expo is attracting a large number of visitors who have dived into immersive virtual reality worlds, tested the latest game releases<\/strong>, faced off in intense esports competitions and forged connections with mobile gaming firms eager to break into North Africa\u2019s rapidly growing market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With government backing, a booming digital scene, and a clear questline set for 2030, Morocco is no longer a spectator. It\u2019s rewriting the rulebook on gaming\u2019s role in its economy, <\/strong>and the game is on.<\/p>\n\n\n
