Botswana.- The Gambling Authority of Botswana<\/strong> has partnered with the North West Gambling Board of South Africa<\/strong> to host a joint workshop focused on information sharing as part of ongoing efforts to enhance regulatory cooperation in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative brought together regulatory experts who shared insights and exchanged best practices with the goal of improving gambling oversight in both nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants discussed ways to improve the supervision of various gambling activities, including casinos, limited payout machines (LPMs) and sports betting. They also shared compliance strategies and operational methods to simplify regulatory procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The North West Gambling Board regulates gambling in South Africa\u2019s North West Province,<\/strong> while the Gambling Authority oversees the industry in Botswana<\/strong>. This joint effort reflects the regulators\u2019 commitment to staying abreast of the industry\u2019s rapid evolution and addressing its emerging challenges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration also indicates the growing influence of Botswana in the Southern African gambling sector. In May 2025<\/strong>, the Lesotho Casino Board embarked on a benchmarking mission<\/a> to the country, which saw it interact with the Authority to learn about its regulatory progress since the Gambling Act of 2012 <\/strong>was enacted.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n
