About 80 per cent of stakes were previously transferred to the French pool, according to Pyramid Médias Gabon. The new offering is available through PMUG’s agencies, kiosks and authorised partners. The Quinté+ jackpot has a minimum starting amount of FCFA10m (about US$17,000) and can increase according to the conditions set out in the game rules.

The move to the Local Pool does not mean PMUG has stopped offering French racing. The operator continues to use French horse races for its Quinté+ offering, while betting is now conducted through the Gabonese Local Pool. The new arrangement took effect on October 1.

The transition will be followed by the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe on October 4, with PMUG announcing a FCFA30m (US$52,000) jackpot for the Quinté+ linked to the French race. The jackpot will be available through PMUG kiosks, agencies and authorised partners.

PMUG’s partnership with PMU France lasted more than two decades, while PMUG said it had served customers for more than 30 years.

   See also:

See also: Africa records 11 IBIA betting integrity alerts in Q2

The operator is bringing horse-racing bets under a Gabonese pool while retaining Quinté+ on French races and introducing new local jackpots.

Gabon's PMUG has transitioned its horse-racing betting from an International Common Pool, previously managed with PMU France, to a Gabonese Local Pool following the termination of their two-decade partnership.
