GDJ said it would carry out its mission with integrity, transparency and responsibility, in compliance with the laws and regulations in force. \u201cSecure the sector, protect the players, fight against illegal practices and contribute sustainably to the economic development of the country, these are the four pillars<\/strong> that guide our action,\u201d GDJ said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The announcement comes as GDJ moves into the next stage of its development following a major restructuring of Gabon\u2019s gambling market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n GDJ was established in December 2025 as Gabon\u2019s state-owned gaming operator under Ordinance No. 0011\/PR\/2025<\/strong>. It is responsible for organising, operating and controlling gaming activities within the state monopoly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The transition<\/strong> accelerated in 2026, with existing gambling authorisations entering an expiry phase from April 7. Operators were required to regularise their activities under the new GDJ framework<\/a> by July 7. GDJ also opened an expression-of-interest process for private operators seeking licences under the restructured market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At its first Board of Directors meeting on August 7, GDJ approved its Strategic Development Plan<\/a>, operating budget, investment budget and internal regulations, establishing the framework for its operational rollout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n GDJ has also begun developing links with other African lottery operators.
