The initiative will fund 40 projects as Niger prepares to host the 31st cross-border Tranche Commune Entente lottery draw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Niger.- The National Lottery of Niger<\/strong> (LONANI) has launched a FCFA40m (US$70,400) project call for youth and women ahead of the 31st Tranche Commune Entente (TCE), a cross-border lottery<\/strong> involving the national lotteries of Benin, Burkina Faso, C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, Niger and Togo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project call was launched in Niamey on September 14 as part of preparations for Niger\u2019s hosting of the 31st TCE lottery, according to Le Sahel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative will select and fund 40 projects for a total of FCFA40m (US$70,400). Twenty projects are reserved for young people, with another 20 for women running income-generating activities<\/strong>. Each selected project will receive FCFA1m (US$1,760).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The call is being held under the theme \u201cYouth and entrepreneurship; Women and income-generating activities.\u201d Projects <\/strong>can cover everything from producing and processing local goods to bringing them to market, with agriculture, culture and handicrafts among the sectors listed. Livestock, tourism and environmental protection are also eligible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project call and TCE plans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The youth category is open to men and women aged 18 to 35, while the women\u2019s category is open to women aged 30 to 50. Regularly constituted groups of young people or women within the respective age ranges can also apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wassalk\u00e9 Adama<\/strong>, adviser to the Director General of LONANI, invited eligible applicants to submit their projects. \u201cI invite young people and women wishing to participate in this call for projects to consult the competition\u2019s terms of reference and submit their applications,\u201d said Adama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications must be submitted in sealed envelopes to LONANI\u2019s headquarters in Niamey or its regional offices by November 2, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Niger will host the 31st TCE draw<\/a> after Togo hosted the 30th edition in 2025. Togo handed hosting responsibility to Niger at the close of the 2025 edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Conseil de l\u2019Entente (Council of the Entente), in collaboration with LONANI, launched the call as part of preparations for the 31st TCE draw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The TCE has a wider development role beyond the lottery draw. Under a 1994 decision by the Conseil de l\u2019Entente, it includes a special contribution for social, cultural and sporting projects, while each host country receives a jointly funded socio-community infrastructure project. The youth and women\u2019s project competition was added from the 25th edition in Lom\u00e9, Togo, in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n
