The regulator met municipal authorities in Hu\u00edla and Benguela to improve coordination and address illegal gambling and unauthorised advertising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Angola.- Angola\u2019s Gaming Supervision Institute (ISJ) is strengthening institutional coordination<\/strong> with local authorities in Hu\u00edla and Benguela, with working meetings aimed at coordinating levels of action in the region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The engagements addressed the fight against illegal gambling<\/strong> and the need to ensure compliance with regulations governing gambling activity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ISJ said in a statement: \u201cAmong the main issues addressed were the fight against illegal games and the advertising of unauthorised games<\/strong>, reinforcing the need for coordinated action among institutions to ensure compliance with regulations that regulate the activity of games.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meetings were conducted by Abel Carlos Nduli, head of the provincial service of the Southern Region<\/strong>, and his team. In Hu\u00edla, the delegation was received by Eva Lombe, municipal administrator of Palanca; Rita Miranda, municipal administrator of Humpata; and Lizender Andr\u00e9, municipal administrator of Lubango.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

In Benguela<\/strong>, meetings were held with Jo\u00e3o Tom\u00e1s Ant\u00f3nio, Municipal Administrator of Navegantes, and Eurico Bongue Manuel, Municipal Administrator of Ba\u00eda Farta. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ISJ reiterated that \u201cthe exploitation of games without the competent licence<\/strong> constitutes a crime\u201d, calling on stakeholders to comply with the legislation and support the development of legal, regulated and responsible gambling activity in Angola. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move comes as the ISJ also seeks to strengthen regulatory cooperation beyond Angola\u2019s borders. In August, the regulator discussed a potential Memorandum of Understanding<\/a> with Malawi\u2019s Gaming and Lotteries Authority (MAGLA) to exchange regulatory documentation, procedures, checklists and experience. The proposed agreement would support closer oversight of operators active in both markets.<\/p>\n\n\n
