The move follows reports of several recent killings of women in the country, with Women For Change calling on South Africans to unite on November 21, while WiGA says it will stand with the initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The organisation said that violence against women extends beyond<strong> South Africa\u2019s borders<\/strong>. \u201cBecause violence against women is not simply a South African issue,\u201d WiGA said in its LinkedIn post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WiGA\u2019s support for the Women For Change mobilisation follows the discovery of nine women\u2019s bodies in South Africa\u2019s Gauteng province in the past two months and growing coverage of the police investigation. Police are examining possible links between the cases, according to EWN. The killings have also attracted <strong>international attention<\/strong>, with Reuters, the Associated Press and the Financial Times reporting on the cases. WiGA said there was \u201c<strong>understandably, outrage<\/strong>\u201d over the killings.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"571\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2026\/09\/1789553254768-571x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33496\" srcset=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2026\/09\/1789553254768-571x600.jpg 571w, https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2026\/09\/1789553254768.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 571px) 100vw, 571px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WiGA highlighted the <strong>connections<\/strong> its members have with women across the continent, regardless of where they live. \u201cEven if you do not live in South Africa, you have a friend, a colleague, a sister, a mother, a daughter, a neighbour,\u201d the organisation said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The organisation said that if African women are serious about building a legacy together, their <strong>solidarity<\/strong> cannot stop at national borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WiGA said that when women are \u201cfrightened, silenced, abused or killed\u201d anywhere on the continent, it matters to everyone. It added: \u201cThis isn\u2019t about gaming. It isn\u2019t about business. It isn\u2019t about which country you come from.
