Ghana.- The Ghana Gaming Commission<\/strong> has recently launched a responsible gambling campaign to mark May<\/strong> as Gambling Wellness Month<\/strong>. Partnering with the Mental Health Authority<\/strong>, the commission also used the initiative to commemorate Purple Month<\/strong>, a global month-long celebration of mental health awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the campaign, the regulator aims to educate Ghanaians about the risks of gaming addiction and its effects on individuals and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the beginning of the month, the commission has been hosting various activities to promote healthy gaming habits among players, operators and the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign’s highlight was a webinar<\/strong> held on May 15, 2025,<\/strong> during which industry professionals shared their valuable insights. Some of the speakers included Ag. Gaming Commissioner Emmanuel Siisi Quainoo<\/strong>, Dr. Maame Ekua Balden<\/strong>, a psychiatrist from Pantang Hospital<\/strong>, Dr. Rosalind Baker-Frampton<\/strong>, clinical director at Gordon Moody<\/strong>, and Owusu Frederick<\/strong>, executive secretary of the Gaming Operators Association of Ghana <\/strong>(GOAG). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the session, experts engaged in insightful discussions on gaming addiction, mental health issues and effective strategies for promoting responsible gaming. Attendees learned how to identify signs of gambling addiction, access support and take preventive steps.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative is part of a larger push to address gambling addiction and prioritise mental wellness in the Ghana gaming sector.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ghana Gaming Commission invites all stakeholders to participate in the campaign and work together to create a safer gaming environment and promote community well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n
