The regulator brought its leadership together in Kasane for a two-day session on AI, cybersecurity and digital governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Botswana.- Botswana\u2019s Gambling Authority Board and Executive Management convened for a high-level executive session focused on Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity<\/strong> and Digital Governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session took place in Kasane from September 10 to 11 and was facilitated by Tichaona Zororo of Enterprise Governance of IT (EGIT), according to the Gambling Authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Authority said: \u201cThis strategic engagement was anchored in the vital necessity of future-proofing regulatory oversight as technology transforms the gaming industry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

It said the session reinforced leadership capability around complex digital risks<\/strong>, information security and responsible technological innovation. The Authority added the engagement was intended to ensure its governance frameworks<\/strong> remain robust, forward-looking and fully aligned with the demands of a digitally empowered gaming ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The development comes as the Gambling Authority moves towards the next phase of its strategic bingo and casino licensing<\/a> roll-out, having issued an Expression of Interest on September 1 to assess investor interest in the proposed developments. The EOI covers proposed casino locations in Central District, Maun and Kasane\/Pandamatenga, while bingo opportunities are proposed across several districts.<\/p>\n\n\n
