South Africa.- Gauteng police have seized 31 computers from an internet lounge in Brakpan, Ekurhuleni<\/strong>, after receiving information about suspected illegal gambling activities at the premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seizure took place on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, during a joint operation involving members of the Provincial FLASH team, Brakpan SAPS Social Crime unit, service providers and the Gauteng Gambling Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police said the team raided the location after obtaining a warrant to investigate suspected unauthorised gambling activity at the site. The person overseeing the premises was served with the warrant, while the owner was also contacted and served.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to investigators, the 31 computers seized at the scene were linked to the alleged gambling operation. Other items removed from the lounge included cash, a Speed Point, a scanner and an internet router. The equipment was packaged and transported to Brakpan SAPS for further investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities have not confirmed any arrests. However, police and the Gauteng Gambling Board are continuing to examine the equipment and determine the nature and extent of the alleged gambling operation.<\/p>\n\n\n
