FEMAFOOT has referred the case involving Afrique Football Elite and AS Korofina to its Independent Ethics Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Mali.- The Malian Football Federation (FEMAFOOT) has referred an integrity case involving Malian clubs Afrique Football Elite (AFE) and AS Korofina to its Independent Ethics Commission over suspicious and apparently coordinated betting activity<\/strong> flagged in an International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its August 28 statement, FEMAFOOT said the case concerned the June 10 Ligue 1 match between Afrique Football Elite and AS Korofina, which ended in a 5-3 win for AFE. The federation said the matter had been referred for further examination<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Describing the findings of the IBIA report, FEMAFOOT said: \u201cThe report of the International Betting Integrity Association<\/strong> (IBIA), relating to the Afrique Football Elite-AS Korofina match, reports a suspicious and apparently coordinated betting activity, including the exact score of 5-3 and several associated markets.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The federation added: \u201cHowever, this is neither a judgement nor a conviction. The federation has not, at any time, claimed that AS Korofina was guilty of fraud or match manipulation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Betting alert reaches ethics panel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The case follows comments made by FEMAFOOT Executive Committee president Mahazou Cisset at a press conference on August 26. Cisset said FEMAFOOT was acting on official integrity alerts concerning suspicious betting on the 5-3 scoreline and that, as president, it was his duty to protect competition integrity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The federation said the alerts came from international organisations<\/strong> specialising in sports betting integrity, rather than from personal speculation or unfounded accusations. It added that other reports had also been registered with several betting operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FEMAFOOT said it referred the file to its Independent Ethics Commission, which will hear the parties and examine the available evidence before reaching a conclusion under the applicable rules. The federation said the case had already been included in its June monthly report, made public on July 10, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FEMAFOOT said it has a duty to act on integrity reports<\/strong>, pass information to the competent bodies and cooperate with investigations. It called on AS Korofina to exercise restraint and said the club could submit observations and evidence if it believed it had no involvement.<\/p>\n\n\n
