In an advertisement released on Monday, August 31, the NLC invited applications for a specialist adviser position responsible for supporting the Commissioner on policy, regulatory, compliance and corporate governance matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The position will involve reviewing strategic initiatives, policies and agreements, with the successful candidate expected to identify potential risks and advise on whether proposed actions are consistent with the Commission\u2019s statutory and governance requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The adviser will also prepare briefing notes, advisory reports and policy interpretations for the commissioner and senior leadership. Part of the role will involve assessing the feasibility and regulatory implications of proposed strategies before they are implemented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NLC said applicants must hold a bachelor\u2019s degree at NQF Level 7 <\/strong>and have between eight and 10 years of experience <\/strong>in senior or executive management positions to qualify. Candidates must also have at least five years of experience supporting leadership with organisational transformation or establishment at senior management level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The successful applicant will be expected to monitor regulatory and governance developments affecting the NLC and turn complex policy, legal and technical information into practical guidance for senior leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The role will further involve identifying governance risks and developing mitigation measures, participating in strategic planning forums and coordinating with operational divisions on matters arising from decisions taken by the Commissioner\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The NLC lists knowledge of the PFMA, Treasury directives and notes, public-sector finance protocols and King IV principles<\/strong> among the required competencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The recruitment process will include background verification, social media screening and security vetting, while the successful candidate will be subject to security clearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Applications must include a comprehensive CV and copies of qualifications and be submitted to Recruit@nlcsa.org.za.
