Toronto session covers player protection, gambling harm prevention, advertising and international regulatory practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Tanzania.- Representatives of the Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT) have taken part in a responsible gambling<\/strong> training session hosted by the Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) at its Toronto office in Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session, held in August and led by RGC\u2019s Advisory Services team, focused on advancing responsible gambling in Tanzania, including how regulators can balance market development with player protection. The RGC said: \u201cA key theme throughout the session was the importance of shared responsibility and bringing industry, regulators<\/strong>, and other stakeholders together to strengthen player protection.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Discussions covered proactive harm prevention, marketing and advertising, as well as lessons from different regulatory environments. Participants also explored how frameworks such as the one underpinning RG Check accreditation can support the adoption of leading practices<\/strong> across the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RGC said that as gambling products, technologies and risks continue to evolve, innovation, collaboration<\/strong> and continuous learning are critical to building a culture that prioritises player wellbeing. The Tanzanian representatives named by RGC were Petronila Sabas Kisaka, Zena Athumani Simkondo, Anneny Bernard Nahum and Elibariki Stanley Sengasenga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The RGC team leading the session comprised Tracy Parker, Sherene Fernando and Jeannine Haynes-Singh. The RGC is an independent Canadian non-profit organisation and a leader in preventing problem gambling in Canada and globally. It works with operators, regulators<\/strong>, communities and other stakeholders through research, training, advisory services, standards and accreditation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GBT regulates gaming activities in the country, including licensing and compliance, and has a mandate to protect the public from the potential adverse effects of gaming. The Board also promotes responsible gaming and protection of vulnerable groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RGC said it looks forward to continuing to share knowledge and strengthen responsible gambling practices with organisations globally. <\/p>\n\n\n
