The regulator and National Arts Council have launched a skit challenge offering US$1,000 for the highest-performing entry as Zimbabwe advances wider gaming reforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Zimbabwe.- Zimbabwe\u2019s Lotteries and Gaming Board has partnered with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) to promote gambling awareness<\/strong> through a new social media skit challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Responsible Gambling Skit Challenge invites comedians, skit makers and digital creators to produce one- to two-minute videos under the theme \u201cResponsible Gambling \u2013 Know When to Stop!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a joint statement, the organisations said: \u201cWe are calling creative skit makers to showcase your talent, while promoting a crucial message<\/strong>. create a one- to two-minute skit highlighting the importance of gambling responsibly,\u201d the organisations said. Entries close on August 31, with the skit generating the highest number of views and engagement <\/strong>winning US$1,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign comes as the Lotteries and Gaming Board reported ZiG47.97m (US$1.89m) in revenue for 2025<\/a>, with an operational surplus of ZiG2.48m (US$97,800). The Board also plans to introduce a real-time Gaming Management System to improve oversight of operators and revenue reporting, while the government is processing amendments to the Lotteries and Gaming Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creators are being asked to focus on four key messages: knowing when to stop, gambling for fun rather than income, setting personal limits<\/strong> and helping friends gamble responsibly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants must post their skits on Facebook, tag the NACZ and Lotteries and Gaming Board, and use #ResponsibleGambling2026. The challenge adds a new public-awareness tool<\/strong> to the Board\u2019s wider focus on responsible gambling and consumer protection.<\/p>\n\n\n
