Three South Sudanese nationals have been charged over allegations that they used fraudulent tricks during a roulette-machine game to obtain UGX8m in cash from Golden Tripod Casino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Uganda.- Uganda has charged three South Sudanese nationals over allegations that they obtained UGX8m (US$2,155) through fraudulent tricks during a roulette-machine<\/strong> game at Golden Tripod Casino in Kampala. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a charge sheet reported by Daily Monitor, the alleged offence took place between July 31 and August 8, 2026, at the casino in Kampala Central Division.\u00a0The accused are Yol Dheng Chour,\u00a0Abiacko\u00a0Dacko, and Ahon Mangok. The prosecution alleges that they committed the offence together with another person who\u00a0remains\u00a0at large.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The charge sheet alleges that the three, \u201cby means of fraudulent tricks<\/strong> during a game on a roulette machine,\u201d obtained UGX8m in cash from Golden Tripod Casino. The casino offers a range of games, including roulette, blackjack and slot machines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trio appeared before Magistrate Rophine Achayo at the Buganda Road Chief Magistrate\u2019s Court in Kampala and denied a charge of jointly cheating<\/strong>, contrary to Section 287 of Uganda\u2019s Penal Code Act, Cap 128.\u00a0The report added that Daniel Kazibwe, alias Ragga Dee, was present in court as the complainant.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

State prosecutor Hope Masawii told the court that investigations into the case had been completed and asked the court to set a hearing date. \u201cInvestigations<\/strong> in the matter are complete and we pray for a hearing date,\u201d said Masawii. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The court adjourned the matter to August 31, 2026, for the hearing of the accused\u2019s bail application. The allegations have not been proven in court, and the three accused have denied the charge. <\/p>\n\n\n
