Six national lottery and pari-mutuel societies took part in financial settlement work in Cotonou following the May regional betting event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Benin.- Lottery and pari-mutuel operators from six countries<\/strong> took part in compensation work (financial settlement sessions) in Benin, from August 10 to 13, following the May 7 race of the 23rd West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) Common Pool. The work followed financial transactions generated by the payment of winning tickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Benin National Lottery (LNB) hosted the work, with the six societies carrying out financial reconciliation linked to the May betting operation<\/strong>, according to 24 Heures au B\u00e9nin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joining LNB were Burkina Faso’s National Lottery (LONAB), C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire’s National Lottery (LONACI), Niger’s National Lottery (LONANI) and Senegalese National Lottery (LONASE). Mali’s Urban Pari-Mutuel (PMU Mali) also took part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LONACI participated through a delegation led by Deputy General Director Abdoulkarim Ouattara. The compensation work followed the payment of winning tickets by participating societies, generating financial transactions that required “regularisation<\/strong> between the concerned lotteries”, said LONACI in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 23rd UEMOA Common Pool brings together national lottery and pari-mutuel societies for shared regional betting activity. The May 7 event featured a CFA100m jackpot (US$176,000) for the 4+1 Special.<\/p>\n\n\n

LONACI said the August work was aimed at regularising accounts between the participating societies following the May event and strengthening cooperation and good governance <\/strong>around common operations. \u201cThrough these compensation activities, the various Societies are consolidating their collaboration mechanisms, transparency, and financial regularisation, essential for the smooth operation of the UEMOA Community Mass,\u201d added LONACI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The financial settlement work provides a mechanism for the participating societies to reconcile transactions arising from the regional betting operation and payments to winning ticket holders.<\/p>\n\n\n
