Namibia.- Betway owner Super Group is set to expand into Namibia, with the company targeting a fourth-quarter 2026<\/strong> launch as it extends its African sportsbook footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Super Group confirmed that \u201cNamibia is expected to launch in the fourth quarter\u201d during its latest second-quarter earnings call, providing a firmer timeline after the company previously targeted the second half of 2026, according to Investing.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move comes as Super Group\u2019s African business continues to drive growth, with revenue rising 36 per cent<\/a> to US$310m in Q2. Within the segment, sportsbook revenue climbed 50 per cent to US$108m from US$72m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Super Group CEO Neal Menashe<\/strong> highlighted Namibia\u2019s proximity to South Africa and Botswana, where the group already operates, as an advantage for the expansion. He said Super Group expects to launch between one and three African markets a year, with potential markets assessed against factors including taxation and regulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Namibia offers an established gambling market for Betway\u2019s planned entry. The country\u2019s gaming sector was forecast at approximately N$948m (US$52.5m) in revenue in 2025, with six licensed casinos, 2,845 registered gaming machines and 254 gambling establishments, according to The Brief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Namibia\u2019s Gaming and Entertainment Control Act 2018 provides the regulatory framework<\/strong> for gambling and specifically provides for bookmaker licences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Q4 launch would give Betway a new African market as Super Group continues to expand its regional footprint. <\/p>\n\n\n
