{"id":30688,"date":"2026-08-09T16:30:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-09T19:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/?p=30688"},"modified":"2026-08-10T09:24:59","modified_gmt":"2026-08-10T12:24:59","slug":"super-group-reports-36-africa-revenue-growth-in-q2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/super-group-reports-36-africa-revenue-growth-in-q2","title":{"rendered":"Super Group reports 36% Africa revenue growth in Q2"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Overall revenue growth during the quarter was driven by Africa,&nbsp;underlining the continent\u2019s importance to the group\u2019s global operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">South Africa.- Betway operator <strong>Super Group <\/strong>has released its unaudited financial results for the second quarter of 2026, revealing strong growth across its African business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Revenue from Africa rose 36 per cent year-on-year to US$310m (\u20ac268m) during the three months ended June 30, up from US$228m (\u20ac197.1m) in the corresponding period of 2025. The region accounted for 46 per cent of the group\u2019s total reportable segment revenue, compared with 40 per cent a year earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The increase was driven by growth across both business segments. African igaming revenue climbed to US$202m (\u20ac174.6m) from US$156m (\u20ac134.9m) in the second quarter of 2025, while sportsbook revenue increased to US$108m (\u20ac93.4m) from US$72m (\u20ac62.2m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the first six months of 2026, Africa generated revenue of US$577m (\u20ac498.8m), compared with US$429m (\u20ac370.9m) during the same period last year. Igaming contributed US$391m (\u20ac338m), while sportsbook revenue reached US$186m (\u20ac160.8m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The region also recorded stronger profitability, with adjusted EBITDA increasing 48 per cent to US$133m (\u20ac115m) in the second quarter from US$90m (\u20ac77.8m) a year earlier. For the first half of the year, Africa\u2019s adjusted EBITDA rose to US$231m (\u20ac199.7m) from US$171m (\u20ac147.8m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At group level, Super Group reported record revenue of US$684m (\u20ac591.3m) for the quarter, an 18 per cent increase from US$579m (\u20ac500.6m) in the prior-year period. Profit for the quarter reached US$123m (\u20ac106.3m), compared with a loss of US$3m (\u20ac2.6m) a year earlier, while adjusted EBITDA rose 30 per cent to US$204m (\u20ac176.4m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chief executive <strong>Neal Menashe<\/strong> said the company achieved record revenue, adjusted EBITDA, deposits and wagering during the quarter, supported by the FIFA World Cup and the group\u2019s diversified business model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company also reported a 13 per cent year-on-year increase in monthly active customers to 6.2 million (6.2m) and ended the quarter with cash and cash equivalents of US$548m (\u20ac473.8m), up from US$513m (\u20ac443.5m) at the end of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reflecting the strong performance, Super Group raised its full-year 2026 guidance.
