South Africa.- The Limpopo Gambling Board (LGB)<\/strong> has marked Mandela Month<\/strong> with a donation of essential supplies to Khomotsong Care Centre<\/strong> for the Disabled<\/strong> in Zebediela. In a statement issued on July 22, the regulator said it provided the facility with wheelchairs, blankets, food supplies, toiletries and paint to support the living conditions of residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Khomotsong Care Centre is home to 34 children living with disabilities and is supported by a team of 15 staff members. The facility was established by Mrs Vilamina Babili<\/strong> to provide specialised support for its residents.<\/p>\n\n\n

The handover ceremony was attended by traditional leaders, ward councillor Portia Lekgwathi<\/strong>, representatives of Disabled People South Africa, parents of the children and members of the local community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the outreach, LGB chief executive officer Gregory Makoko also educated attendees about responsible gambling and the risks of illegal gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative forms part of Mandela Month activities, during which organisations across South Africa support community projects in honour of Nelson Mandela’s legacy of service.<\/p>\n\n\n
