Uganda.- Uganda\u2019s gaming regulator, the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB)<\/strong>, has confiscated 36 illegal gaming machines during enforcement operations in Buikwe District<\/strong> as part of its ongoing campaign against unlicensed gambling activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regulator said the machines were seized in Katosi<\/strong>, Wantoni<\/strong> and Kasenyi Landing Site<\/strong> under Operation Mashine Haramu<\/strong>, its enforcement initiative targeting illegal gaming operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seizure follows an earlier operation that saw the NLGRB remove 102 illegal gaming machines<\/a> across three districts. The regulator has intensified enforcement against illegal gambling<\/a> in the past few months, recently reporting the confiscation of 4,400 illegal gaming machines during the 2025\/26 financial year and court approval for the destruction of 6,749 machines to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the NLGRB, unlicensed gaming machines operate outside the country\u2019s regulatory framework, leaving players without regulatory oversight or consumer protections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In previous statements, the regulator said its enforcement activities are intended to promote compliance with gaming laws, protect consumers from unregulated operators and create a fair operating environment for licensed businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regulator also urged the public to play only through licensed operators and report suspected illegal gaming activities.<\/p>\n\n\n
