South Africa.- The North West Gambling Board (NWGB)<\/strong> has reaffirmed its support for tourism-led economic development after participating in the launch of the Madibeng Tourism Association<\/strong> at Harties Harbour in Hartbeespoort Dam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stakeholder engagement that took place on July 21 was hosted by the North West Department of Economic Development, Environment, Conservation and Tourism (DEDECT) and the North West Parks and Tourism Board<\/strong>. It brought together public and private sector representatives to discuss collaboration aimed at expanding tourism, strengthening the local economy and creating employment opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was led by MEC Bitsa Lenkopane<\/strong>, who, together with stakeholders, also conducted a site visit to assess the progress of the project. According to the NWGB, the development has completed its feasibility studies and preparatory work, marking a key step towards implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Board said the establishment of the Madibeng Tourism Association is intended to encourage partnerships that support tourism growth while unlocking development opportunities in the area. NWGB added that it remains committed to initiatives that promote economic development and employment across the province through collaboration with government and industry stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Board said such partnerships will help position the North West as a leading tourism destination while supporting inclusive economic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
