Baldé said he wants each housing project to enable at least 100 LONASE employees to become homeowners through a transparent allocation process.

He also proposed dedicating part of the company’s profits to the initiative. Using an annual profit of CFA17bn (€25.9m) as an example, Baldé said at least 10 per cent of earnings should be used to help employees purchase homes rather than being distributed directly as cash.

According to Baldé, the programme would be open to employees across all levels of the organisation, with housing options designed to accommodate different income levels. He added that details of the eligibility criteria and implementation process would be disclosed as part of the 100-day roadmap.

Baldé said LONASE also intends to strengthen support for retired staff through the company’s foundation by allocating a dedicated budget to assist former employees and, in some cases, their families. He called for discussions on the initiative to begin promptly so it could be incorporated into the 100-day action plan.

The director general also identified the tax burden on the gambling sector as one of the urgent issues requiring attention, saying it had weighed heavily on the industry and would form part of the company’s immediate priorities.

He further said he had been briefed on the activities of several LONASE subsidiaries, including its real estate business and other affiliated entities, and would review their business models to ensure they contribute more effectively to the company’s objectives.

Baldé added that additional initiatives would be announced once the roadmap is finalised, noting that the overall objective is to ensure the company’s performance and recovery efforts first benefit LONASE and its workforce while encouraging greater innovation across the organisation.

Concluding his address, he urged employees to support the transformation programme and reaffirmed his commitment to fairness and accountability. Baldé said: “The only thing I will not tolerate is disloyalty and the absence of transparency.
