LNB shareholders approve the 2025 financial statements as the state lottery unveils a strategy centred on digital transformation, profitability and distribution network expansion.

Benin.- Benin’s National Lottery (LNB S.A.) announced shareholders had approved the company’s 2025 financial statements and a gross global dividend of CFA3.438bn (US$6m) at a recent Ordinary General Meeting, while Managing Director Marius Adanzounon outlined the company’s ambition to become the leader in lottery and betting games in French-speaking Africa.

In a press release issued on July 14, LNB said the meeting, held at the Palais des Congrès in Cotonou, included the approval of the company’s principal governance resolutions and development prospects as part of its statutory obligations.

The approved dividend totals CFA3.438bn (US$6m), with shareholders set to receive a gross dividend of CFA173 (US$0.30) per share, or CFA164 (US$0.28) net per share.

During the meeting, Adanzounon also unveiled the company’s roadmap for future growth, with the strategy focused on accelerating digital transformation, expanding the distribution network, improving profitability and strengthening proximity to customers.

Adanzounon said: “Our ambition is to become the leader in lottery and betting games in French-speaking Africa.”

LNB said the strategy is intended to place the company on a sustainable growth path while creating greater value for shareholders, consolidating its leadership in the national market and building a more efficient, innovative and forward-looking company.

Growth fuels investor confidence

Chairwoman of the Board of Directors Sarah Kpénou also encouraged investors to continue supporting the company, highlighting what she described as the company’s significant growth over the years.

She said the company’s turnover had increased from about CFA10bn (US$17.5m) to more than CFA100bn (US$175m) and expressed confidence in the long-term outlook for the lottery sector, describing lottery activities as a sustainable and profitable industry.

Kpénou added that the company’s expected performance by 2027 should further strengthen shareholder confidence and reinforce LNB’s position in the market.

The AGM follows a period of leadership change at LNB. In June, the company appointed Adanzounon as managing director to accelerate digital transformation and modernise the state lottery’s operations. The strategy outlined at the shareholder meeting builds on those priorities.
