The North West Gambling Board partnered with the provincial Liquor Regulator and Community Policing Forum to raise awareness of illegal gambling risks under the Thuntsha Lerole outreach programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

South Africa.- The North West Gambling Board (NWGB)<\/strong>, in partnership with the provincial Liquor Regulator <\/strong>and the Community Policing Forum<\/strong>, hosted a responsible gambling roadshow in Leeudoringstad Township<\/strong> under the Maquassi Hills Local Municipality as part of its Thuntsha Lerole community outreach programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign, held on Thursday, July 16, educated residents on responsible gambling, the risks of illegal gambling and compliance with liquor licensing regulations. Officials also provided information on support services for people experiencing gambling-related harm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the roadshow, residents were encouraged to play an active role in combating illegal gambling by reporting unlicensed gambling machines operating in tuckshops and other informal businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials also distributed responsible gambling materials and engaged directly with community members, explaining the role of the regulator and how to identify illegal gambling activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The roadshow supports the regulator’s efforts to strengthen compliance, raise awareness of responsible gambling and combat illegal gambling across the North West Province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also aligns with the provincial government\u2019s Thuntsha Lerole service delivery programme, which seeks to improve access to government services, strengthen regulatory compliance and encourage responsible business practices at community level. Residents were encouraged to play an active role in combating illegal gambling by reporting unlicensed gambling machines operating in tuckshops.<\/p>\n\n\n
