Eswatini.- Sports betting operator eBet has used its ongoing FIFA World Cup registration campaign in Eswatini to reinforce responsible gambling, urging customers not to use money intended for essential household expenses when placing bets.

Speaking during a recent prize presentation at the operator’s Swazi Plaza offices, eBet marketing manager Bongekile Dlamini said gambling should be viewed as entertainment rather than a way to earn income.

She advised customers not to stake money set aside for rent, school fees or other family obligations, stressing that responsible gambling should take precedence over any promotional campaign.

According to Dlamini, the World Cup registration drive is intended to reward eligible customers while promoting safer gambling practices throughout the tournament period.

The campaign, which began on June 15 and runs until September 4, includes weekday prize draws for newly registered customers who complete a qualifying play. The latest presentation saw 25 participants receive smartphones and tablets.

eBet said it has consistently combined its promotional activities with responsible gambling messaging, encouraging customers to gamble only with disposable income and within their personal spending limits.

Under the campaign rules, only newly registered players aged 18 and above are eligible to participate after completing at least one qualifying activity. Winners are selected from Monday to Friday until the campaign ends on September 4.
