South Africa.- The National Gambling Board (NGB)<\/strong> of South Africa held a responsible gambling awareness session for employees of Pioneer Plastics<\/strong> in Pretoria on Monday, July 6, as part of its ongoing efforts to educate communities about gambling-related risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a social media update, the regulator said the presentation was aimed at helping employees of the manufacturing company better understand gambling, its potential risks and the support services available to those who may experience gambling-related harm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the session, employees received information on the importance of making informed decisions when participating in gambling activities. The presentation also covered the potential financial, social and psychological consequences of excessive or irresponsible gambling, while encouraging participants to recognise the warning signs of gambling-related problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NGB also highlighted where employees and their families can seek support if gambling-related harm becomes a concern, including through the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation (SARGF)<\/strong>, which provides free counselling and treatment services for problem gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pioneer Plastics visit aligns with the NGB\u2019s key focus areas for Q2<\/a>, which include promoting responsible gambling education through public awareness and outreach programmes. By taking awareness campaigns directly to workplaces, the regulator equips employees with information that encourages responsible gambling habits and supports employee well-being and sustained productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n
