South Africa.- The South African Responsible Gambling Foundation (SARGF)<\/strong> has invited applications for four graduate internship positions under the National Responsible Gambling Programme (NRGP)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the foundation, the 24-month internship is aimed at graduates seeking careers in gambling harm reduction and mental healthcare while supporting the delivery of responsible gambling services across South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Successful applicants will be based at the foundation\u2019s offices in Parktown, Johannesburg, and will be required to travel within South Africa as part of the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The internship covers several areas of responsible gambling. Interns will conduct screenings and assessments to identify individuals at risk of gambling-related harm, provide counselling and support services, facilitate referrals to treatment professionals, and participate in public awareness and advocacy initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They will also assist with community education programmes, maintain records of counselling and outreach activities, support programme monitoring and evaluation, and manage self-exclusion referrals for individuals seeking to restrict their access to gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n SARGF said applicants must hold either a BA Honours degree in Psychology, a BA in Social Work, or a BA in Education with a major in Psychology and\/or Early Childhood Development. Candidates must also hold a valid driver\u2019s licence, be fluent in English, and be registered with either the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) or the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n The foundation said preference will be given to graduates who completed their qualifications within the past two years and have not previously been employed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Interested candidates must submit a curriculum vitae and a one-page cover letter by the application deadline of July 17, 2026.<\/p>\n\r\n\t\t
