The National Assembly later adopted the committee\u2019s report before forwarding the recommended names to the minister for the final decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bonakele emerged as the highest-scoring candidate during the interview process. A lawyer by profession, he served as commissioner of the <strong>Competition Commission of South Africa<\/strong> from 2013 to 2022 after acting in the role from 2011. He also previously served on the <strong>National Lotteries Commission Board<\/strong>, bringing experience in competition law, corporate governance, public administration and regulatory oversight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As chairperson of the board, Bonakele will head the governing body responsible for setting the commission\u2019s strategic direction, overseeing executive management, ensuring sound corporate governance and monitoring the regulator\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mosing brings expertise in governance, finance and risk management. She previously chaired the Audit and Risk Committee of the <strong>State<\/strong> <strong>Diamond Trader<\/strong> and has served on several public sector boards and governance structures. Her experience includes oversight of compliance, financial accountability and institutional governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The appointments come as the National Lotteries Commission continues efforts to strengthen governance and restore public confidence following years of scrutiny over grant administration and oversight.
