Namibia.- The Gambling Board of Namibia (GBN)<\/strong> has invited applications for 12 positions across its regulatory, corporate and operational divisions as the regulator seeks to expand its workforce in support of its oversight of the country\u2019s gambling sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the vacancy notice, applications are being accepted for positions ranging from senior management to technical and support roles at the Board\u2019s head office in Windhoek<\/strong>. The recruitment exercise covers finance, legal, licensing, compliance, inspections, responsible gambling, communications, procurement, human resources, information technology and research functions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Among the advertised positions are manager: finance and administration, manager: responsible gambling, finance officer, assistant finance officer, human capital officer, procurement officer, ICT technician, research and awareness officer, six inspector positions, two licensing officer positions, legal officer, and a communications and social media officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Board said inspector roles will focus on regulatory inspections, site monitoring, investigations and stakeholder engagement, while licensing officers will process licence applications, conduct verification activities and maintain licensing records. The manager: responsible gambling will oversee public awareness programmes, regulatory compliance, policy implementation and partnerships related to safer gambling initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The vacancies require qualifications and professional experience relevant to each role. Senior management candidates are expected to have at least five years\u2019 experience, including supervisory responsibilities, while most officer-level positions require two to three years\u2019 experience. Legal applicants must be admitted as legal practitioners of the High Court of Namibia, while ICT candidates with recognised industry certifications will have an added advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The recruitment follows the Gambling Board\u2019s continued efforts to strengthen implementation of the Gaming and Entertainment Control Act, 2018<\/strong> (Act No. 13 of 2018), which established the regulator and outlines its responsibility for regulating gambling activities in Namibia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In recent months, the regulator has also intensified other regulatory activities, including recovering outstanding gambling levies from licence holders and expanding public access to licensing services through a government one-stop business initiative in Windhoek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The vacancy notice states that applications are open only to suitably qualified Namibian citizens. Applicants are required to submit a curriculum vitae, a motivation letter of no more than two pages, certified copies of their academic qualifications, a certified copy of a Namibian identity document issued within the last three months, and contact details for three traceable referees.
