Angola.- Angola is once again in the international tennis spotlight as it prepares to host the Davis Cup Africa IV tournament<\/strong>, a decision hailed as a vote of confidence by the International Tennis Federation (ITF)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Davis Cup, widely considered the “World Cup of tennis,” spans 180 nations and is a cornerstone of international men’s tennis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will take place from June 9 to 14 on the courts of the Academia de T\u00e9nis Kikuxi Villas Club in Kilamba, a thriving suburb in Luanda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It marks the second time Angola has been chosen to host the tournament, and the timing couldn’t be more symbolic. It coincides with the 50th anniversary of the country’s independence, a celebration that has been set for November 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year’s Davis Cup promises fierce rallies and national pride as eight nations – Angola, Burundi, C\u00f4te d’Ivoire, Gabon, Ghana, Mauritius, Kenya and the Democratic Republic of Congo – square off. The two top finishers will advance to Group III, while the lowest-ranked two face relegation to Group V.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advantage on home soil<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Angola’s home court advantage could be pivotal. Earlier this year, the national team secured their Group IV spot in a dramatic showdown against Rwanda at the very same Kikuxi courts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elsewhere in Group IV, Kenya clung to its status after edging out Cameroon 2-1, while Senegal and Algeria celebrated promotion to Group III with strong performances against Congo and Burundi, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Angola’s ambitions are clear: rise through the ranks and claim its place among the continent’s elite. As the Kikuxi Villas Club preps for action, Luanda braces for a week where sportsmanship, strategy and national pride collide.<\/p>\n\n\n
