For land-based gaming, Lydia Ludic remains the country’s only licensed operator authorised to conduct casino activities and ticket-based gaming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The latest initiative complements LONA’s broader regulatory reforms, including its planned transition into a dedicated Gambling Regulatory Authority and the rollout of an\u00a0NSoft-powered Gambling Management System (GMS) <\/a>designed to strengthen licensing, compliance\u00a0and digital governance across Burundi’s gambling sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n LONA said the enhanced transaction monitoring is intended to support its broader efforts to modernise gambling governance<\/strong>, improve transparency and promote the sustainable development of Burundi’s regulated gaming market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The regulator urged consumers to use only licensed operators<\/strong>, noting that investigations had identified companies offering gambling services without authorisation. It warned that operators found to be in breach of Burundi’s gambling laws would face legal sanctions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n LONA also reminded organisations wishing to organise raffles or lottery promotions that they must first obtain approval from the regulator and comply with the applicable 10 per cent tax on raffle tickets.
