For land-based gaming, Lydia Ludic&nbsp;remains&nbsp;the country&#8217;s only licensed operator&nbsp;authorised&nbsp;to conduct casino activities and ticket-based gaming.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The latest initiative complements LONA&#8217;s broader regulatory reforms, including its planned transition into a dedicated Gambling Regulatory Authority and the rollout of an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/burundi-advances-gambling-regulator-launch-as-nsoft-pushes-supervision-framework-rollout\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/burundi-advances-gambling-regulator-launch-as-nsoft-pushes-supervision-framework-rollout\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NSoft-powered Gambling Management System (GMS) <\/a>designed to strengthen licensing, compliance\u00a0and digital governance across Burundi&#8217;s gambling sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LONA said the enhanced transaction monitoring is intended to support its broader efforts to&nbsp;modernise&nbsp;<strong>gambling governance<\/strong>, improve transparency and promote the sustainable development of Burundi&#8217;s regulated gaming market.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The regulator urged consumers to use only <strong>licensed operators<\/strong>, noting that investigations had&nbsp;identified&nbsp;companies offering gambling services without&nbsp;authorisation. It warned that operators found to be in breach of Burundi&#8217;s gambling laws would face legal sanctions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LONA also reminded&nbsp;organisations&nbsp;wishing to&nbsp;organise&nbsp;raffles or lottery promotions that they must first obtain approval from the regulator and&nbsp;comply with&nbsp;the applicable 10 per cent tax on raffle tickets.
