Technical assistance initiative forms part of a broader cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening anti-money laundering controls and institutional collaboration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Angola.- Angola’s Gaming Supervision Institute<\/strong> (ISJ) has provided technical assistance to the General Tax Administration’s (AGT) task force responsible for preventing money laundering and terrorist financing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The support was delivered through the regulator’s Technical Group for Mutual Evaluation (GTAM) on June 17, with the initiative focused on promoting the exchange of experiences, sharing technical knowledge<\/strong> and disseminating best practices in anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML\/CFT). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the ISJ, the initiative was aimed at strengthening institutional cooperation and supporting anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing efforts, reflecting the regulator’s responsibility for overseeing Angola’s gambling, lottery <\/strong>and wider gaming sectors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, the ISJ stepped up efforts to combat illegal gambling<\/a> and strengthen supervision of licensed operators as part of a broader regulatory drive aimed at improving compliance across the sector.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The action forms part of a cooperation protocol signed by the ISJ and AGT<\/a> in Luanda in early 2026. The agreement\u00a0established\u00a0mechanisms for continuous collaboration, technical\u00a0coordination\u00a0and mutual support between the two institutions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement, the regulator said: “With this initiative, the ISJ reaffirms its commitment to strengthening national mechanisms to prevent and combat ML\/TF, contributing to the consolidation of a more integrated, transparent, secure<\/strong> and resilient financial system.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regulator added that the initiative supports efforts to strengthen anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing controls through greater cooperation between public institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n
