South Africa.- The National Gambling Board, in collaboration with the Gopalang Youth Development Association, has announced plans to host a youth empowerment and financial literacy programme for participants aged 16 and older in Pretoria on June 19, 2026.

The two-hour outreach session will take place from 14:00 to 16:00 at Saulsville Community Library, located at 1 Malebye Street, Saulsville, Pretoria. Participation is free of charge.

According to the organisers, the programme will cover career guidance and development, workplace readiness, financial literacy and money management, and personal development and goal setting. The session is designed to provide practical information on employment preparation, budgeting, saving, and financial decision-making.

As South Africa’s gambling regulator, the National Gambling Board is also expected to use the platform to promote responsible gambling and informed financial choices. The regulator has regularly supported initiatives aimed at educating communities about the risks associated with excessive gambling, the importance of managing personal finances, and the need to seek help when gambling-related harm occurs.

Participants will have access to presentations, discussions, practical learning materials, and opportunities to engage with facilitators. Organisers said the event forms part of wider efforts to support youth development, responsible gambling, financial education, digital literacy, and community empowerment.
