According to a vacancy advertisement published on June 5 2026, applications for the five-year contract position close on June 19 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The successful candidate will be based at GBN&#8217;s head office in Windhoek and occupy a position graded at F1 level. The advert states that ITCS was appointed to administer the process &#8220;in compliance with the company policies and <strong>governance principles<\/strong>.&#8221; The Gambling Board&#8217;s website identifies Johannes Erastus as its acting chief executive officer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the vacancy notice, the CEO will be responsible for the Board&#8217;s <strong>strategic direction and operations<\/strong>, including compliance,&nbsp;enforcement&nbsp;and stakeholder engagement.&nbsp;Applicants are required to hold a master&#8217;s degree in business administration,&nbsp;law&nbsp;or a related field and possess at least 10 years of senior management experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The notice states that the Board &#8220;aims to create a level playing field for all stakeholders and ensure that the industry benefits all key stakeholders on a long-term basis without causing harm.&#8221; It further states that the regulator &#8220;seeks to develop new solutions for <strong>better regulation <\/strong>of the industry.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Established under the <strong>Gaming and Entertainment Control Act 2018<\/strong> (Act 13 of 2018), GBN is responsible for regulating Namibia&#8217;s gambling industry.
