Malawi.- The Malawi Gaming and Lotteries Authority (MAGLA)<\/strong> has signed a K40m (US$23k) Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Super League of Malawi (SULOM) <\/strong>to sponsor the \u2018Goal and Save of the Month Award\u2019 for the 2026 FDH Bank Premiership<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership was officially unveiled during a signing ceremony held on Monday, May 25, in Blantyre, where representatives from both organisations described the initiative as a strategic investment in football development and player motivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the agreement, players in the top-flight league will be recognised monthly for outstanding goals and exceptional saves throughout the 2026 season. The awards are expected to create additional incentives for players and raise competitive standards in the league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAGLA said the initiative is part of efforts to support football development and enhance performance incentives in Malawi\u2019s premier football competition. SULOM described the sponsorship as a boost for the domestic game, noting that monthly recognition will motivate players and add excitement for fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deal highlights the gambling regulator\u2019s growing commitment to social investment and community development, coming days after it donated K7.8m<\/a> to the Mzuzu Viphya Lions Club in support of a free medical screening campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
