Angola.- Angola’s Gaming Supervision Institute (ISJ) is continuing efforts to strengthen gambling supervision across the country after holding an institutional workshop in Cabinda Province as part of a broader territorial expansion strategy.

The workshop, held on May 19, formally introduced the Institute and its new Northern Region coordinator, Sebastião Tomágua, while bringing together representatives from the provincial government, defence and security agencies, magistrates, municipal administrations and other public institutions.

The opening session was led by Cabinda Provincial Finance Delegate Daniel Conde, representing Provincial Governor Suzana de Abreu, who highlighted the importance of the regulator’s institutional presence in the province and stronger inter-agency cooperation for gambling oversight in Angola.

ISJ director general Nerethz Tati described the event as an opportunity to strengthen coordination between state institutions while reinforcing the regulator’s focus on legality, transparency, responsible gambling and the fight against illegal gambling activities.

The ISJ said in a statement: “This initiative is part of ISJ’s territorial expansion strategy, which has been intensifying its presence in the provinces with the aim of strengthening local cooperation mechanisms and consolidating sector supervision at the national level.”

The Cabinda initiative forms part of ISJ’s wider nationwide supervision strategy as the regulator continues expanding provincial oversight mechanisms and strengthening coordination with state institutions across Angola’s gambling sector.
