John Mutua, chief executive of the Association of Gaming Operators Kenya (AGOK), is set to join policy discussions at the Responsible Gaming Symposium in Lagos on June 11.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Nigeria.- Organisers of the Responsible Gaming Symposium<\/strong> have confirmed that John Mutua<\/strong>, chief executive of AGOK<\/strong>, will speak at the June 11 event at D\u2019Podium International Events Centre in Ikeja, Lagos. The symposium is being presented as a forum for regulators, operators and policymakers to discuss responsible gambling practices and wider regulatory issues in African markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the event website and organisers\u2019 posts, the programme will cover taxation, licensing, advertising standards and player protection, alongside keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, networking sessions and a press conference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organisers added that Mutua leads industry engagement with Kenya\u2019s Gambling Regulatory Authority, National Treasury and Parliament on policy issues shaping the future of the sector, including taxation, licensing, foreign operator frameworks <\/strong>and responsible gaming initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n

Under Mutua\u2019s leadership, AGOK received the Best Responsible Campaign Initiatives award at the Gaming Tech Summit Africa 2025 following a nationwide responsible gambling campaign across television, radio and digital platforms. Organisers also noted that Mutua was recently recognised as Male of the Year at the inaugural iGaming Afrika Awards 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to joining AGOK, organisers said Mutua spent more than 16 years in gaming operations <\/strong>and consultancy across East and West Africa, including work linked to Ngong Racecourse and Moja Group markets in the DRC, Senegal, C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, Ghana and other jurisdictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to organisers, he has supported more than 10 licence applications<\/strong>, market entries and joint ventures across Anglophone and Francophone Africa, with expertise spanning sportsbook, casino, horse racing, crash games, virtual sports, USSD systems, mobile money integrations, and operator-stack development tailored to African markets. <\/p>\n\n\n
