Washington and Lee University students took part in lottery draws as Ghana\u2019s National Lottery Authority showcased transparency systems and digital operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Ghana.- Ghana\u2019s National Lottery Authority<\/strong> (NLA) has hosted a delegation from Washington and Lee University <\/strong>for an academic exchange visit centred on lottery technology and public service innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation, comprising 18 students, professors and a coordinator, visited the NLA on May 12 as part of an exchange programme with the University of Ghana. During the visit, the delegation explored the role of Information and Communication Technology <\/strong>(ICT) in lottery operations and public service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representatives from the NLA\u2019s Strategy and Business Improvement (SBI) Department guided the group through lottery draw procedures<\/strong> at Brennan Hall, providing insight into the systems and processes behind live draws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visiting students also participated in the drawing of the five winning numbers during the Noonrush Draw and Afriluck Mid-Day Cash Draw. The NLA said: \u201cThe visit focused on exploring the role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in lottery operations and public service delivery<\/strong>.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n

The visit comes as the NLA continues advancing its digital transformation agenda. In April, the authority outlined plans to transition lottery sales<\/a> to electronic platforms by the third quarter of 2026 as part of efforts to modernise Ghana\u2019s lottery sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme concluded with a presentation led by operations and draw manager Kwaku Boakye Nimako, who demonstrated the authority\u2019s draw machines<\/strong>, introduced panel members and explained the checks conducted before each draw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation also engaged with Mohammed Abdul Salam<\/strong>, NLA director general, who discussed the authority\u2019s mandate, systems and the use of technology to strengthen transparency and efficiency in lottery operations.<\/p>\n\n\n
