In a statement shared across its official social media channels, RDB said: \u201cToday, RDB CEO Jean-Guy Afrika and Georges Boukazi, managing director of Moja Group Inc., signed a 10-year Operating Agreement to operate Rwanda\u2019s National Lottery.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The RDB said the agreement forms part of efforts to strengthen the country\u2019s regulated lottery sector. \u201cMoja Group Inc., through its subsidiary Moja Rwanda Ltd., will operate the National Lottery in line with <strong>international standards<\/strong>, with revenues supporting public-interest programmes that benefit communities across the country,\u201d added the RDB. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"473\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2026\/05\/RWANDA1-1-473x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24952\" srcset=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2026\/05\/RWANDA1-1-473x600.jpg 473w, https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2026\/05\/RWANDA1-1.jpg 1616w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 473px) 100vw, 473px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Jean-Guy Afrika and Georges Boukazi during the signing of the 10-year Rwanda National Lottery operating agreement between RDB and Moja.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The agreement follows months of uncertainty surrounding Rwanda\u2019s National Lottery operations after authorities terminated former operator Carousel Ltd\u2019s Inzozi Lotto licence in October 2025 over failure to meet contractual and regulatory obligations. Authorities later launched a competitive <strong>selection process <\/strong>to identify a new National Lottery operator after the National Lottery was left without an operator in late 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rwanda\u2019s Cabinet <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/rwandas-new-national-lottery-operator-announced-as-moja\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">approved the agreement<\/a> with Moja Rwanda Ltd. on April 2, after the company was announced as the country\u2019s new National Lottery operator, paving the way for the latest signing ceremony and the formal start of the company\u2019s <strong>long-term operational mandate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proceeds generated through Rwanda\u2019s National Lottery are channelled to the <strong>Ministry of Sports<\/strong> under the country\u2019s Sports Development Policy while also supporting wider community and public-interest initiatives.
